Introduction to Law

Before delving into legal case studies and specific legislation and
regulations, it’s important to understand several basic concepts.
These include basic concepts related to the structure of government
(such as the legislative and judicial branches), private and public law
(such as formal and substantive law and the various legal principles),
and sources of law (such as regulations and case law).
In addition, it’s important to be able to consult a collection of laws,
understand the key elements of a judicial decision, and understand how
Dutch law relates to international law.
