Our society is constantly changing and this has an impact on the
functioning of the institution where you work as a social worker. This
requires you to express and clarify your own positions and visions using
insights from sociology.

The welfare state has been under pressure for some time. Not only the
financing of care and welfare, but also the
underlying vision of care has been put on the line. The government is
increasingly emphasizing the citizen’s own responsibility. In the care
sector, an appeal is made to self-care and informal care and the
patient’s own responsibility, for example in the form of
client-related budgets. In social work, the aim is to make the client
self-reliant. Here and
there, protocols are already being developed for care and concepts such
as ‘quality care’, effectiveness and productivity are entering the world
of social work. Under the heading of the concept modernisation, based on
four themes, the student formed a coherent picture of a society that is
strongly in motion. As a prospective social worker, what do you think
